Is a group fare always cheaper? No. Sometimes DIY wins on pure fare. Group files win on holds, names, seat blocks, and one commercial path — especially when the roster still moves.
What if we are only 8 passengers? Many economy group products want 10+. Some premium products use lower minima (e.g. AA published all-premium 7). Confirm before you assume a group file exists.
Can we hold seats without final names? Often yes at the start of a group file. Final names still have a deadline. That is a core GROUP signal in factor 1.
